About

We are a small family run equine facility in beautiful Austerlitz NY (Columbia County). The farm is located on a very quiet dirt road close to Beebe Hill State Forest and Harvey Mountain State Forest with access to trails. We are conveniently located off route 22 near the New York State Thruway/Massachusetts Turnpike.

One of the owners, Danielle, is a High School Biology and Agriculture teacher and has spent most of her life around horses. She started taking lessons at the age of seven and worked at an Arabian barn in CT while in High School. She dual majored in Agricultural Education and Animal Science and has taken equine science, nutrition, and animal production courses. She achieved her life long dream of owning her own farm in 2012. Since 2012, the family has made many improvements to the property.

Our family has three horses on the premises.

  • Nickelodeon – 27 year old Thoroughbred gelding. Retired eventer who is very mellow and great with kids.
  • Little Bit – 22 year old Spanish Barb. Spent his life prior to living with us as a trail, camp, and therapeutic horse.
  • Shelby – 6 year old pony who is loved on by our two daughters.

In addition to the horses, we have three geriatric dogs who stay in or near the house.

We also have a flock of free ranging chickens, 6 guineas, 3 peafowl and 2 guard geese. The poultry do a fantastic job of keeping the pesky insects to a minimum and provide us with eggs.  Eggs are usually available in the tack room for $4/dozen.

There are two barn cats, Raven & Smokey, who keep the barn rodent free. They’re shy and stay hidden most of the time.

We utilize fly predators in the paddocks and manure areas.
